TINA VICE MURANO
b. 1967

Tina Vice Murano creates captivating fine art. Be it a nest of copper she entitles One Copper Thread, a glass-and-copper-framed drawing or a glass-enclosed sculpture, or a wall-size installation, a Vice Murano work lures the viewer in and lulls him to a deeper, meditative state of mind. One glance will tell you this is not your garden-variety sidewalk-show sculptor.

After receiving her B.F.A. in sculpture from Wichita State University, Vice Murano studied, on a Reid Fellowship, at Maine’s prestigious Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She has also done graduate work in sculpture at Montana State University and the Wichita Center for the Arts. Currently, in addition to her position as co-owner and artist-in-residence at the Acme Gallery in Wichita, she teaches ceramics, sculpture and painting at both the Center for the Arts and the Northeast Arts Magnet High School.
