My yearning to move beyond my classical training of painting typical still lifes of fruit-filled bowls and vases of flowers led me in a new and exciting direction.

My compositions, subject matter and larger-than-life scale allow me to step over into the contemporary realm.

I paint still lifes full of glassy treasures that create a prism of light that dances across the canvas.

The are a celebration of color and reflections intermingling to form a chromatic kaleidoscope.

Back-lighting from the sun offers the opportunity to paint shadows filled with colors that intertwine and form a fusion of shimmering light.

Bouncing light creates movement for the viewer to travel around the canvas. Sometimes leaving an object half off the canvas gives the onlooker the feeling that there is life beyond the edge.

I choose objects that are difficult to draw and paint such as carnival glass and reflective metals.

My hope is to take the everyday objects-of-life and turn them into exciting vessels of celebration.
