Bag One Case and Colophon
The case made to hold the Bag One  series lithographs. Designed by French couturier Ted Lapidus and hand-stitched by craftsmen in Italy. Ecru-colored patent leather, 24 5/8 x 32 5/8 x 2 5/8 inches, with handles and a buckled strap closure, lock and patent leather identification tag, 2 1/8 x 3 ½ inches, buckled to one of the metal strap fastenings. Inside the case, which is lined in deep blue silk taffeta, two firm fiberboard supports are attached to the bottom. These are buckled securely by two long ecru patent leather straps, and enclose the lithographs for safe keeping. BAG ONE in 2 ½ inch black block letters appears on the front, along with a printed John Lennon signature, 1 x 6 inches, at an angle on the lower right. The colophon or title page contains a full description of the edition. It is numbered 1 to 300, HC/1 to HC/VL. It reads exactly as follows:

John Lennon/bag one
is a series of fourteen original lithographs.
Each has been pulled on BFK Rives paper
at the Bank Street Atalier, Ltd., New York
The pull is limited to
300 examples, each print individually signed
by John Lennon and numbered 1 to 300.
45 examples, hors de commerce, each print 
individually signed by the artist and numbered
HC I to HC VL.
